HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO BOOK?
By keeping our weddings small, it gives us a lot of flexibility. Our best advice is to book as soon as you have made your decision on your date and which package you want. Because some of our services provide lodging, the later you wait to book, the more chance that your favorite room choice won’t be available. Check out our room availability on our Reservation Calendar. Check on our calendar, then give us a call at 503-965-6745 when you’re ready to book.
CAN YOU MARRY US ON THE SAME DAY OR A COUPLE DAYS AWAY?
Very possibly yes! Call us and we will do everything we can to fit you in.
CAN WE HIRE JUST AN OFFICIANT?
Absolutely! Our officiant will meet you at your ceremony location if it’s within our service area which is the Three Capes area from Pacific City up through Oceanside. The fee for our officiant is $200.00 If your ceremony is farther up or down the coast, it still might be possible with an additional travel fee. Call us and we will try to work with you. When hiring just our officiant, you will need to make your own plans in case of bed weather. Oregon Coast Weddings & Elopements can not provide an alternate location. We’re happy to still perform your ceremony using an umbrella!
CAN YOU PROVIDE WITNESSES?
Yes we can. The fee for a witness is $50. If you are booking one of our all-inclusive packages, witnesses will be provided at no additional charge.
WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT/PAYMENT POLICY?
Officiant, witness and photography bookings require payment in full at time of booking and are non-refundable and cannot be changed. If you cancel, your payment will not be refunded or credited. We highly recommend you consider purchasing very affordable wedding cancellation insurance.
All-Inclusive and Whole house small wedding package will be charged a 50% non-refundable deposit at time of booking with the non-refundable balance due 30 days before arrival. Once the whole house package is booked, the booking can not be cancelled or changed. We highly recommend you consider purchasing very affordable wedding cancellation insurance.

WHAT DO WE DO IF IT RAINS?
If you are hiring our Officiant only service, you need to make your own back up plan for rain. We highly suggest that you consider renting the gazebo at day use area in the Cape Lookout State Park. It’s only $50 for an all day reservation. In the off season there’s a good chance you can just show up and use the area for free. In the late spring, summer or early fall, the gazebo rents quickly on most Saturdays & Sundays. The gazebo is large and can accommodate 20-30 people. It has a view of the ocean and you can always walk down to the sand for you ceremony if it’s not raining. The gazebo at Cape Lookout State Park is a wonderful back up plan for rain. To check it’s availability or to book it, call their reservation number at 800-452-5687. Ask about renting the day use area.
DO WE NEED A PERMIT TO GET MARRIED ON THE BEACH?
If you are planning on having less than 50 people at your ceremony, no permit is required. A permit IS required if you plan on setting up chairs or any structure, including an arch. Oregon Coast Weddings & Elopements does not provide or set up any chairs, structures or music. Click here for information on obtaining a PERMIT.
WHERE CAN WE RENT CHAIRS, TENTS, ARCH, ETC.?
Oregon Coast Event Rentals can take care of all your needs, including the permit that will be needed. Oregon Coast Event Rentals
WE LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE, CAN WE GET OUR MARRIAGE LICENSE IN OUR STATE?
No. You must get your marriage license in Oregon. You can apply for your license at any courthouse in Oregon and it will be valid for your wedding with us. Please see our Marriage License page for more specifics.
HOW MANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAN WE INVITE?
If you are planning to have your ceremony on the beach or other location you’ve rented, you can have as many as you’d like at your ceremony. If you exceed 50 people, you will need a permit (see permit information above).
If you are staying with us at Sandlake Country Inn, we need to limit the number of people on our property to 10 for the cake & champagne. You can have more people at your ceremony, but no more than 10 can be invited back to the inn unless you book our Whole House All-Inclusive Wedding Package.
If you have chosen our Whole House All-Inclusive Wedding, then it’s possible to have a few more, but you will need to discuss this with us prior to booking.
WE WANT THE ALL-INCLUSIVE WEDDING/ELOPEMENT PACKAGE. WHAT ROOM DO WE GET?
You get to choose any room that is available for your date(s). It’s all included with your package! You can view the available dates and rooms on our Availability Calendar
CAN I BOOK MY ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE OR OFFICIANT ONLINE?
Because we want to make sure you get exactly what you want, online reservations are not possible. Please call us at 503-965-6745 and we’ll be happy to answer all of your questions and make your booking.
WE’RE ALREADY MARRIED, CAN WE RENEW OUR VOWS?
We would be honored to renew your vows! You could choose from an All-Inclusive Package or Officiant only.
ARE YOU COMFORTABLE PERFORMING SAME SEX MARRIAGE ?
Absolutely! Starting in 2014, same sex marriages became legal in Oregon. We perform same sex marriages with the same dignity and honor that everyone deserves.
IS THERE A DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY?
Yes. When booking our officiant services, your credit card will be charged a non-refundable payment of $200. Once your date and time is confirmed, no changes can be made.
If you are booking one of our All-Inclusive packages, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be charged if you have booked more than 30 days in advance. At 30 days, the remaining 50% will be charged and at that point your entire package becomes non-refundable. If you have booked your package less than 30 days in advance of your ceremony, 100% of your package will be charged and will be non-refundable.
WHAT TIME WILL THE CEREMONY TAKE PLACE?
You tell us! We try to be very flexible with your ceremony time and the exact location. We have kept the area we serve limited so our wedding couples can have the most flexibility as possible.
WHAT DO WE WEAR?
That decision is totally up to you! If you look at some of the pictures in our picture gallery, you see couples are wearing everything from shorts & jeans to formal, traditional wedding attire. This is YOUR wedding, so you choose. Our officiant typically wears a black suit, but if you’d like more casual attire, no problem, just let us know.
CAN WE HIRE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes! As you may know, wedding photographers can be very expensive and traditionally start at $1,500 for a half day shoot. We can give you an alternative!
We have made special arrangements with Dee Brausch Photography who has graciously reduced his price for our couples only. Please see our rates page for his prices.
It is also ok to bring in your own photographer.
WHAT’S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE?
That’s the million dollar question! The weather on the Oregon coast can be very fickle. We can have beautiful sunny days in January and rainy days in August, you just never know. WHAT DO WE DO IF WE HAVE 20-80 PEOPLE?
- We specialize in very small weddings & elopements.
- We may not be the perfect fit if you intend on that many people.
- You may want to check out Oceanside Community Club Rental Hall.
- For a very reasonable cost you can rent the hall in the beautiful town of Oceanside.
- The Community Club provides tables, chairs, kitchen facilities and bathrooms.
This is a great option for those that want to have a larger wedding than what we offer. Don’t forget, you can always hire our Officiant for your Oceanside wedding. Be sure to book as far in advance as you can since they book up quickly.
